#7 - Content Strategy Made Easy
Content strategy…ahhhhh, welcome to running a business in 2022. You’ve heard of the term, but what does it all really mean? Content strategy is a plan in which you use content (written, audio and/or visual) to achieve your business goals. Honestly, this isn’t really anything those guys (and gal) from Mad Men haven’t already done. Content strategy is what millennials and gen z call marketing. It is an elevated form of traditional marketing because we have so many ways to share our ideas and so many platforms to share them on.
Content strategy sounds easy enough, but you’re probably wondering how to implement it. In this week’s episode, I discuss how to work smarter and not harder by going back to the basics and being more intentional about what content you put out.
Here’s an overview:
- Quality over quantity is the way to go to work more effectively and avoid social media burnout.
- If you do encounter social media burnout, don’t be afraid to take a break. Remember, your content will always reflect your state of mind.
- Be strategic about what platforms you use and how many of them you use.
- Avoid worrying about overselling yourself by adding variety to your content.
- Build relationships with your target audience by offering glimpses into your life outside of business.
- Find your voice! With all the different flavors of content already out there, it can be easy to find inspiration and mimic what another content creator is doing. Remember that your target audience wants to get to know you so whatever you do, just be authentically you.
